Bill Norris Glenn, 81, of Sedalia, died Friday, March 30, 2007, at his home.
He was born March 26, 1926, in Sedalia, a son of Vernon P. and Mable Norris
Glenn. On Feb. 4, 1962, in Miami, Okla., he married Cynthia Ketchum, who survives
of the home.
Mr. Glenn was a member of First Christian Church and was employed in the
finance and real estate business for 44 years. He was last employed at Union Savings Bank, retiring in 1994. He served as a director of the bank for over 20 years.
Mr. Glenn enjoyed quail and pheasant hunting. He trained his own dogs and
took pride of the results. He also enjoyed raising cattle on his farm for some 35 years.
He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving with the 3rd Photo Recon
Squadron in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater of Operation. He was a charter and life
member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2591, and a lifetime member of the B.P.O. Elks Lodge 125, where he served as the Exalted Ruler in 1969. He lived most of his life
in Sedalia.
Survivors include his wife, Cynthia Glenn, of the home; three daughters, Lori
Glenn, of Smithton, Amy Torok, and her husband, Bob, of Sedalia, and Kathryn
Beasley, and her husband, Rusty, of Sedalia; two granddaughters, Stephanie Glenn and Rachel Beasley Harris; a grandson, Dominic Torok; a great grandson, Tanner Harris; a sister, Virginia Hinken, of Sedalia. He was predeceased by a brother, Harold G. Glenn; and his parents.
It was Bill’s request that there be no funeral services or visitation.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the local Boy Scout’s of America or to the American Lung Association.
