Marilyn Elaine Duzan, 73, of Sedalia, died Thursday, Dec. 13, 2007, at Bothwell Regional Health Center.
She was born March 12, 1934, in Sedalia, a daughter of Edward F. and Agnes M. Young Miller. On Dec. 14, 1969, in Sedalia, she was married to James C. Duzan, who survives of the home.
Mrs. Duzan was a member of First United Methodist Church, Osage Chapter
Daughters of the American Revolution, United Methodist Women and the Red Hat
Society. She was also past matron of Sedalia Chapter 57 Order of the Eastern Star and past district deputy grand matron of Order of the Eastern Star.
She enjoyed playing cards and belonged to several bridge clubs, enjoyed going to Las Vegas and was a wonderful cook. She was a secretary for the 1991 Communications Squadron at Whiteman Air Force Base.
Also surviving are a son, Steve Emory, and his wife, Kathy, of Sedalia; a stepdaughter, Jennifer Nantz, and her husband, Brent, of Statesville, N.C.; a stepson, Kevin Duzan, and his wife, Melissa, of Harmony, N.C.; three brothers, Tom Miller, of Green Ridge, David Miller and Dwight Miller, both of Sedalia; two sisters, Loretta Baessler and Laura Ann Griffin, both of Sedalia; a granddaughter, Tara Aeschbacher; two step grandsons, Jeremy and Jacob Duzan; and two great grandsons, Caleb Sousley and Spencer Aeschbacher. She was predeceased by her parents; and a nephew, Michael Miller.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday, December 17, 2007, at Heckart Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jim Downing officiating.
Pallbearers will be Todd Griffin, Bruce Aeschbacher, Kent Miller, Joe Miller, Randy Scotten and Joe Reser.
Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery.
Friends may call after noon Sunday at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the Boys and Girls Club or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
