She was a member of Broadway Presbyterian Church since 1940, where she was a member of the women’s association and Odell Circle. She was also a member of Pettis County Chapter 2823 AARP and volunteered for Open Door and Meals on Wheels. She worked as a Med Tech at Rest Haven Nursing Home, retiring in 1980. She was a homemaker and caregiver. She and her husband
took care of four parents during the 1950's.

After World War II, she and her husband owned and operated a dairy farm for twenty years. Then they bought a farm northeast of Dresden, where they lived until his death.

Survivors include a son, Ted Perkins, and his wife Pat, of Sedalia; a daughter, Darlene Pluger, of Beavercreek, Ohio; three grandsons, Scott Perkins, Chris Pluger and Todd Pluger; a granddaughter, Tammy Spratley; and four great grandchildren, Sean Pluger, Shelby Pluger, Jared Spratley and Morgan Spratley.

She was predeceased by three sisters, Neva Holder, Elizabeth Walker and Iris Shepherd; and a brother, in infancy.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, December 22, 2007, at Heckart Funeral Home, with Chris Pluger officiating.

Pallbearers will be Chris Pluger, Todd Pluger, Doug Spratley, Bruce Spratley, Kathryn Lowe and Carl Zimmerschied.

Burial will be in Highland Sacred Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

The family suggests memorial contributions to Broadway Presbyterian Church or Children’s Therapy Center.

Eunice Marie Perkins, 89, of Beavercreek, Ohio, formerly of Sedalia, died Saturday, Dec. 15, 2007, at Heartland Nursing Home in Beavercreek.

She was born May 5, 1918, in Eldon, Missouri, a daughter of Gilbert E. and Frances Elizabeth Amos Walker. On July 11, 1942, she married Donald F. Perkins, who died March 15, 1985.
