She also was active in St. Paul’s Ladies Aid and Quilter’s Group. She taught Sunday School for many years and was a former member of the AlterGuild. She graduated from Smith-Cotton High School in 1935 and attended Central Business College in Sedalia. She worked as a bookkeeper for Bichsel Jewelry for eight years and for Bryant Motor Company for 33 years. She had in lived in Sedalia most of her life.
Survivors include a sister, Verneta Koeller, Sedalia and a nephew Marvin Buford and his wife Jill, of Ft. Myers, Florida. She was predeceased by a brother, Edgar Fischer, in infancy.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, October 20, 2006, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church with Pastor Ken Taktenhorst officiating.
Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Heckart/Gillespie Funeral Home. Condolences may also be sent online at www.heckart-gillespie.com

Lavona Martha Fischer, 90, of Sedalia, died Monday, October 16, 2006, at herhome.
She was born August 27, 1916, in Glenstead, Missouri, a daughter of August H.and Martha Windler Fischer.
Ms. Fischer was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church where she was theLibrarian for many years.
