Mr. Gordon attended Maplewood Church. He worked at Hayes Lemmerz International Inc. He enlisted in the Navy for four years and then the Air Force, for 16 years, serving during the Korean War and the Vietnam War, retiring in August of 1969. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #2591, American Legion Post #642. One of his favorite past times was coupling his creativity with his meticulous nature to handcraft various woodworking projects.

He was very proud that he was the youngest of five siblings with all five serving in the military and that they were first generation Scotsmen.

Gordon and his wife Rachael, of Kansas City, Missouri; two grandchildren, Wade and Lydia Henderson. He was predeceased by his parents; three brothers, Clement Reid Gordon, William Morrice Gordon and Alexander McNab Gordon; and a sister, Margaret Steedman Gordon Burnham.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 29, 2008, at Heckart Funeral Home with Rev. Tony Chapman and Rev. Jim Kane officiating.
