Walter B. Loveland, 75, of Sedalia passed away Saturday, October 24, 2009 at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Cole Camp.

He was born September 3, 1934, in Sedalia, a son of Walter B. and Clara Detmer Loveland.


Walter joined the Marines and is a member of the Sedalia VFW Post #2591.  He worked for Coca Cola from 1970-1989 as the General Manager.  Walter was also a member of the Scottish Rite for 44 years, the Masonic Lodge #236, Sedalia Shrine Club, Sedalia Jaycees and he liked to collect antiques.

Walter is survived by a spouse, two sons, David (Sharon) Loveland and John Loveland both of Sedalia, a daughter, Vickie (Charlie) Homan of Otterville, five grandchildren, Krista, Courtney and Whitney Homan, Claire and Hannah Loveland, two step-grandchildren, Ethan and Laurel McMillin, a great-grandson Kaysen Millsap, two sisters, Beverly Cunningham of Lee's Summit and Barbara Pittman of Mesa, AZ.

He was predeceased by both of his parents.            

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Heckart Funeral Home, with Dr. Donald Allcorn officiating. 

Casket bearers will be Mark Englund, Jim Fairfax, Jamie Waller, Orville Gott, Bill Rabourn and Scott Englund. 

Honorary bearers will be Wilford McCoy, Bill Gray and Fred Biggs.

Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery with military honors.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Heckart Funeral Home where a Masonic Service will take place.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Broadway Baptist Church.
