Anna Louise Wingate Wilhoit, 89, of Olathe, Kansas, formerly of Sedalia, died early Monday morning, February 2, 2004 in Olathe.

She was born June 5, 1914, in Pettis County, daughter of Charles A. and Claudia Mary Woodward Wingate.  On April 17, 1943, in Sedalia, she married Daniel Birch Wilhoit, who died December 9, 1994. 

Mrs. Wilhoit was a member of First Christian Church, where she was active in Group 9.  She also belonged to Sedalia Chapter 57 Order of the Eastern Star and Flatcreek Extension Club.  Ann lived most of her life in the Sedalia area.  She grew up on the Spring Fork Stock Farm six miles south of Sedalia.  After she married, she continued to operate the farm with her family.  Ann was also the bakery manager at Bings United Super, Holsum Bread Company and Consumers.  After retirement, she moved with her husband into Sedalia where she lived until October 2000, when she moved to Cedar Lake Village in Olathe.

Survivors include a son, Dan Wilhoit II, of Sedalia; a daughter, Bonnie Wilhoit, of Olathe; three granddaughers, Kim Wilhoit and Christina Wilhoit, both of Sedalia, and Jordan Wilhoit, of Olathe; two great granddaughters, Hannah Wilhoit and Sarai Wilhoit, both of Sedalia; a niece, Mary Ann Harding, of Sedalia; and a nephew, Larry Lewis, of Kansas City.  She was preceded in death by two sisters, Marie Lewis and Ruth Wingate; and a brother, William Wingate.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, February 5 at the Heckart/Gillespie Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Russell Willoughby and the Rev. Don Crenshaw officiating.

Pallbearers will be Brad Skaith, Glen Webb, Louis Gero, Fred Harding, Mike Harding and Larry Lewis.

Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:30-8 p.m. Wednesday, February 4 at the Heckart/Gillespie Funeral Home.

The family suggests memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society.
