Laura Leona Anderson, 91, of Oak Grove, formerly of Sedalia, died Thursday,
January 6, 2005, at the Medical Center of Independence.
She was born December 10, 1913, in Benton County, daughter of Clovis and
Hattie Hollis Zumalt. On November 5, 1929, in Clinton, she was married to Garland W. Anderson, who died March 16, 1959.
Mrs. Anderson lived in the Longwood area until 1978. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include three sons, Charles Anderson, of Lee’s Summit, Donald Anderson, of Sedalia, and Gary Anderson, of Oak Grove; five daughters, Lillie
Hieronymous, of Marshall, Margaret Bishop, of Sedalia, Pauline Adams, of Joplin, Patricia Barklage, of Lee’s Summit, and Mary Meek, of Otterville; twenty-nine grandchildren; fifty-eight great grandchildren; and five great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three sons, Billy, Daniel and Steven; a sister, Edna
Albin; and a brother, Samuel Zumalt.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 8, 2005, at Heckart/Gillespie Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Leo Birk officiating.
Pallbearers will be Sam Hieronymous, Bob Barklage, Josh Anderson, Justin
Anderson, Jerry Anderson and Craig Barklage.
Honorary pallbearers will be Brian Anderson, Jason Anderson and Herbie Meek.
Burial will be in Longwood Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
