Surviving are his mother and stepfather, Robert and Patricia Riggs, of Smithton; a son, Alex Jared Scott, of Sedalia; a stepdaughter, Haylee Hageman, of Sedalia; a brother, Jeremy Riggs, of Smithton; two sisters, Tiffany Riggs, of Smithton, and Samantha Kowalski, of Sedalia; his paternal grandmother, Carolyn Riggs, of Sedalia; his paternal grandparents, Raymond and Elizabeth Mitts, of Sedalia; and his girlfriend, Laurie F. Cook.
He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Edward and Virginia Scott; his paternal grandfather, Robert L. Riggs; and his paternal grandmother, Connie Mitts.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 8, 2006, at Heckart/Gillespie Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Ron Griffith officiating.
Pallbearers will be Robbie Stevenson, Robert Osborne, Brad Ford, Justin Casdorph, Nick Casdorph, Chris Riggs, Joey Hood and Michael Rohr. Honorary bearers will be Rhys Minnick, Daniel Huggins, Tim Hall and David Collins.
Burial will be in Enloe Cemetery, Russellville, Missouri.

Adam Edward Scott, 22, of Smithton, died Saturday, September 2, 2006, at his home. He was born April 17, 1984, in Tuscumbia, MO, a son of Patricia Y. Scott.
Adam was a Baptist . He was a construction worker and enjoyed listening to music, making model cars and just doing anything with his hands.
