Bob attended Orrick High School, graduating in 1950. He served in the U.S. Naval Air from April 1952 to April 1956. He attended Southwest Missouri State in Springfield, Missouri, and graduated “with distinction” in the upper 10% of his class from the University of Kansas City in June 1960 with a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy. He was a member of Alpha Omega, a pharmaceutical honor society at the University of Kansas City.
Bob was a co-owner of Central Drug in Richmond, Missouri. From 1971 to 1994, he was co-owner of Plaza and Medical Center Pharmacies in Sedalia, Missouri.
He was an active member of First Baptist Church in Sedalia for over 37 years. He taught adult Sunday School for many years. He was a deacon and served as chairman of that group. He led in children’s worship and served on various committees. He participated in mission trips and was a member of Prime Time Singers.
He was a member of Gideon’s International and the Richmond Kiwanis. He was on the board of Meals on Wheels and worked with Habitat for Humanity.
Bob was an avid runner and enjoyed woodworking. He was also a mentor at Heber Hunt Elementary.
He was preceded into heaven by his parents and two brothers, Morris and Billy Bailey. He is survived by his wife and daughters, Julie Glisson, and husband, John, of Roeland Park, Kansas, and Janet Durbin, and husband, Jim, of Lee’s Summit, Missouri. He also had five grandchildren, Justin and Nathaniel Glisson and Bailey, Rob and Ben Durbin. He is also survived by brother, Glen Bailey, of Independence, Missouri, sister-in-law, Mary
Lou Bailey, of Lathrop, Missouri, brother-in-law, Raymond Werle, of Orrick, Missouri, nieces, nephews and a large circle of friends.
Visitation will be Tuesday, Sept. 2, at First Baptist Church in Sedalia, from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be Wednesday, Sept. 3 at First Baptist Church in Sedalia, at 1:00 p.m., followed by a graveside service and burial at South Point Cemetery in Orrick, Missouri, at 4:00 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Herschel Cantrell, Pete Stober, Chester Kirkpatrick, Bob Marker, Herb Mittelhauser and Gregg Hopper.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ralph Huff, Tommie Klein, Jack Chambers, Johnnie Lee and Gary Vestal.
The family suggests memorial contributions to First Baptist Church, Gideon’s International, Meals on Wheels, or Habitat for Humanity.

Robert Doyle Bailey, 75, of Sedalia, died Sunday morning, Aug. 31, 2008, at his home, surrounded by his loving family, after a brief battle with leukemia.
He was born Nov. 22, 1932, in Orrick, Missouri, to Hallie G. and Fannie Bailey. On March 20, 1954, he married his loving wife, Joyce M. Werle, who survives of the home.
