Mrs. Baker enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, playing cards, cooking, making decorative seasonal plates, and taking care of her grandchildren. She was employed as a cook at Houstonia R-V School for 14 years, and was a hair stylist for several years prior. She was tender-hearted, compassionate and loving at all times to her husband, children, grandchildren, and her friends. She was loved and will be missed by all.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Tim Baker, and his wife, Christine, of Michigan Town, Indiana, and Kurt Baker, and his wife, Monique, of Whispering Pines, North Carolina; three daughters, Peggy Karo, and her husband, Max, of O’Neill, Nebraska, Judy Donahue, and her husband, Pat, of Warsaw, and Becky Baker, and her companion, Andell Washington, of Marshall; 14 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; and several half-siblings.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a grandson, Joshua Baker.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Monday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1201 W. Broadway, in Sedalia.
Burial will be held at a later date in East Union Cemetery, Union, Nebraska.

Margaret Marie Baker, 78, of La Monte, passed away Saturday, March 7, 2009, at Bothwell Regional Health Center, after a long battle with cancer.
She was born Sept. 14, 1930, in Tabor, Iowa, the daughter Thelma Siebel Hoback and step-daughter of Melvin Hoback. On Nov. 11, 1946, in Hiawatha, Kansas, she married Jack F. Baker, who survives of the home.
