Gary L. Bartley, 64, of Sedalia, passed away Wednesday, September 23, 2009, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO.

He was born July 13, 1945, in Greeley, KS. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Pamela Bartley; two children, daughter, Karyn Harmon, and husband, Thomas, of Charlotte, NC, and son, Jeremy Bartley, of Sedalia; one grandchild, Ayden Bartley; his step-father, Lewis Lemon, of Grandview; four brothers, Larry Lemon (Leslie), of Lee's Summit, Donald Lemon, of Harrisonville, Ronald Lemon (Connie), of Springfield, and Steven Lemon (Julie), of North Kansas City; and two sisters, Sharon Dains (Roger), of Raytown and Teri Jones, of Sedalia.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mabel Lemon.

Mr. Bartley served in the U.S. Army for eight years, including two tours in Vietnam. He was awarded the Purple Heart. He was the owner of K.E. May Service Company, a heating and air conditioning business, and founded Spray Com, Inc. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Saturday, September 26, 2009, at Heckart Funeral Home.
