Edna Ellen Benskin, 86, of Blue Springs, formerly of Sedalia, died Monday,
September 5, 2005, at Blue Springs Care Center. She was born October 14, 1918, in New Lebanon, a daughter of Arthur Lee and Maude May Croft Farris. On July 7, 1942, in Sedalia, she was married to Walter B. Benskin, who died December 11, 1989.
Mrs. Benskin was a member of Broadway Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed
sewing and reading. She was a seamstress at Lamy’s Manufacturing.
Surviving are a sister, Lydia “Tiny” Staley, of Sedalia; and several nieces and
nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Janet May Benskin; four brothers, Tom Farris, George Farris, John Farris and Joe Farris; and a sister, Jean Cornelius.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Heckart/Gillespie Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Dr. Larry Wheeler officiating. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at
Heckart/Gillespie Funeral Home.
