Betty Joyce Jaeger, 79, of Laurie, formerly of Smithton, died Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2009, at Laurie Care Center in Laurie.
She was born Jan. 15, 1929, in Kansas City, a daughter of Emil L. and Helen I. Busick Overby. On Nov. 17, 1946, in Sedalia, she was married to Homer William Jaeger, who survives.
Mrs. Jaeger and her husband owned Sedalia Supply Company, until retiring in 1986. She enjoyed quilting, crossword puzzles, and watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren grow up. She was a former member of Smithton United Methodist Church.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Joyce Bryant, and her husband, Ed, of Gravois Mills, and Terri Mills, and her husband, John, of Jefferson City; a son, Roger Jaeger, and his wife, Connie, of Ashland; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren; a sister, Marchetta Stout, of Sedalia; and two nieces, Sandy Kerr and Linda Page.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Heckart Funeral Home, with the Rev. Nick Stutesman officiating.
Casket bearers will be James Bryant, Zeb Jaeger, Nick Jaeger, Larry Jaeger, Horace Miera and Cole Heimsoth. Terry Hazel will serve as an honorary bearer.
Burial will be in Smithton Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until service time Friday at Heckart Funeral Home.
