Florence Sue Belle Brockman, 75, of La Monte, died Friday, Dec. 7, 2007, at Bothwell Regional Health Center.
She was born Jan. 12, 1932, a daughter of Homer and Myrl Poynter Kindle. On Dec. 18, 1948, in Sedalia, she was married to Eugene W. Brockman, who survives of the home.
Mrs. Brockman and her husband operated Brockman Café at the Missouri State Fair for 50 years. She worked at Wal-Mart for 23 years, where she was the floral department manager. She also farmed with her husband.
She was a Pettis County 4-H leader for 25 years and served on the National 4-H Council. Her family was chosen as the 1974 Missouri State Fair farm family. She supported all youth organizations.
Also surviving are two sons, Roger Brockman, of La Monte, and David Brockman, of New York City; a daughter, Peggy Nelson, of Gladstone; two brothers, Lloyd Kindle and Al Kindle, both of Sedalia; five sisters, Lucille Bowers, Maxine Griggs, Nadine Klein, Joan Collier and Kathryn Martin, all of Sedalia; three grandchildren, Angie Nelson, Zachary Brockman and Lance Nelson; and four great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a son, Jeffrey Brockman; a brother, Tom Kindle; and five
sisters, Edith Ricky, Mary Jett, Patsy Pyle, Virginia Smith and Janie Kindle.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 10, 2007, at Heckart Funeral Home, with the Rev. Corbett Martin officiating.
Pallbearers will be Roger Brockman, David Brockman, Steve Biermann, Blair Schulman, Dennis Klenke and Bill Ficken.
Honorary pallbearers will be Debbie Biermann, Billy Biermann, Shayla Ficken, Charlie Matthews, Janice Klenke, Marchita Jackson, Bette Patterson, Connie Rehmer, Larry and Ginger Cordes, Mike and Faye Moser, and John Robert and Carla Hughes.
Burial will be in La Monte Cemetery.
