Charles Edward Brosch, 82, of Sedalia, passed away Thursday, October 8, 2009, at Bothwell Regional Health Center.
He was born September 16, 1927, in Cole Camp, a son of John W. and Margaret Perkins Brosch. On August 5, 1950, in Sedalia, he married Ellen Ford.
He was educated in public rural schools and graduated from Liberty School in 1943. He enlisted in the Navy in 1945, and served in the Navy Reserves and the Missouri National Guard. He worked for Missouri Pacific, M.K.T. Railroad, Union Pacific shops, and was a lineman for Missouri Public Service, laying electric lines in rural counties. In 1952, he worked for Lake City Arsenal. He enjoyed raising birds, going to pigeon swaps and auctions, doing yard work, gardening, spending family time, and driving his truck.
Survivors include his loving wife of 60 years, Ellen Brosch, of the home; two sons, John Michael Brosch and Charles David Brosch, both of Sedalia; a daughter, Anna Marie Hallock, of Independence; six grandchildren; one great grandchild; two brothers, Robert Brosch and Leroy Brosch, both of Sedalia; and three sisters, Edna Klein and Mary Ulmer, both of Sedalia, and Ruth Horrell, of St. Louis. He was a loving husband, dad, and grandpa to his family. He is also survived by many friends.
He was predeceased by his parents; and several uncles, aunts and cousins.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, October 13, 2009, at Heckart Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dr. Donald Allcorn officiating.
Burial will in Crown Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Monday at Heckart Funeral Home.
