Roberta "Birdie" Elizabeth Brownfield, 55, of Sedalia, died Friday, December 5, 2003, at Bothwell Regional Health Center.
She was born December 29, 1947, in Sedalia, daughter of Alice Loughridge and the late William F. Barnes. On January 7, 1990, in Sedalia, she married Richard Lee Brownfield, who survives of the home.
Mrs. Brownfield was a member of Broadway Baptist Church. She enjoyed visiting and talking with people and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She worked as ward secretary for Bothwell Regional Health Center for 27 years, retiring in 2001.
Survivors include her husband, Richard Lee Brownfield, of the home; a son, Keith Barnes, of Mt Calm, Texas; a sister, Susan Visentin, of Sedalia; a brother, Franklin D. Barnes, of Independence; her mother, Alice Barnes, of Sedalia; and two grandsons, Jordan and Zion Barnes, of Mt Calm, Texas. She was preceded in death by her father, William F. Barnes; and a sister, Vicki Lynn Barnes in 1954.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 8, 2003 at the Heckart/Gillespie Colonial Chapel with Dr. Donald Allcorn officiating.
Pallbearers will be Lash Loughridge, Larry Stevenson, Terry Cockrell, Leonard Butler, Eddie Hursman and Kevin Goldsmith.
Honorary pallbearers will be Frank Barnes, Jr., Tim Barnes, Michael Barnes, Randy Barnes, Zion Barnes, Jordan Barnes and Dustin Visentin.
Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Heckart/Gillespie Funeral Home. Friends may call from 12 noon to 4:30 p.m. Saturday and after 11 a.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Friends may also sign the guest register online at www.heckart-gillespie.com.
