Mabel Kathleen Broyles, 85, of Smithton, died Wednesday, June 28, 2007.

She was born April 30, 1922, in Greenville, Missouri, a daughter of William
C. and Eliza Smith Banks. On Aug. 20, 1938, in Ironton, she was married to Edward F. Broyles, who survives.

Mrs. Broyles was a member of Flat Creek Baptist Church. She worked for Amax Lead Mine Company as an accountant and receptionist.

Also surviving are a son, Edward F. Broyles, Jr., and his wife, Paulena, of Smithton; two granddaughters, Sarah E. Rea and Jennifer J. Peacock; two step
grandchildren, Paula DeBates and Duayne Frerking; and twelve great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a sister, Bernice Banks; and three brothers, Dana, Russell and Ivan.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 30, 2007, at Heckart/Gillespie Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Cale Magruder and the Rev. Ed Broyles officiating.

Pallbearers will be Forrest Allen, Gene Anderson, Paul Anderson, Bill Jobe, Ron Jobe and Duane Schroder.

Burial will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, June 30, 2007, at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Salem, Missouri.

Friends may call after 3 p.m. Friday, June 29, 2007, at Heckart/Gillespie Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Friday. Condolences may be sent online at www.heckart-gillespie.com.

The family suggests memorial contributions to Alzheimer’s Association Mid- Missouri Chapter, in care of the funeral home.
