Benjamin Thomas Winters, 84, Sedalia, died Wednesday, June 4, 2003, at Boone Hospital Center, Columbia, Missouri.

He was born August 20, 1918, son of George R. and Ruth Faulkner Winters.

On December 14, 1939, in Warsaw, Missouri, he married Emma Belle Glasgow, who died September 10, 1984.

Mr. Winters, was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church. He was an Army Veteran and P.O.W. of World War II. He worked as the warehouse manager for Sedalia Fruit Company and had lived in Sedalia all of his life.

Survivors include two nephews Jim Elliott, Eudora, Kansas and William I. Winters, Richland, Wahington. He was preceded in death by a nephew Bill Owen, two brothers, Idon Winters and George (Bus) Winters; two sisters, Jewell Miller and Ruth M. Elliott.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Heckart/Gillespie Colonial Chapel with Rev. Frederick Zahn officiating.

Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Tom Williams, Cliff Needy, Galen Alfrey and Conrad Stephens.

The family will receive one hour prior to the service.

The family suggests memorial contributions to Wesley United Methodist Church.
