Carl Lewis Lashley, 77, of Sedalia, passed away Saturday, October 24, 2009, at his home.
He was born November 22, 1931, in Kansas City, a son of Earl H. Lashley and Betty Dent Lashley. On March 21, 1953, in Sedalia, he married Betty Jean Lashley, who died February 14, 2006.
Mr. Lashley was an Army veteran. Retired Manufacturing Engineer for Sandor Corp. He enjoyed gardening, photography, and auctions. He was a member of the New Life Open Bible Church.
Surviving are a son, Rick Lashley, of Sedalia; four daughters, Carla Humphreys, of Sedalia, Sheri Young, and her husband, Jeff, of Sedalia, Michelle Arnall and her hisband Adam, of Sedalia, and Nichole Waggoner, and her husband, Shawn, of Sedalia; 11 grandchildren, Christopher Humphreys, Christina Karman, Charity Henson, Andrew Lashley, Heather Chambers, Dustin Meyer, Amber Miller, Megan Moon, Sieaira Moon, Joshua Shawn Miller and Heidi Waggoner; step-grandchildren, Jessi Young, Jennifer Shoemaker and Jana Nielsen; 11 great-grandchildren, Travis Humphreys, Corbin Humphreys, Daltin Humphreys, Jacob Karman, Sheldon Karman, Cassandra Karman, Mackenzie Zeiler, Ashton Henson, Logan Henson, Kinzer Chambers, Tyla Hardy, and ; three step great-grandchildren, Clayton Hambsch, Madilyn Shoemaker and Jacob Neilsen.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Chadrick Moon.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Heckart Funeral Home, with the Rev. Tony Chapman and Steve Rouchka officiating,
Honorary bearers will be Virgil Meyer, Jerry Hoehns, Carl Holman, Charles Curry, Herschell Cantrell, Wayne Hutcheson, Lawrence E. Adams, Bill Collins, Joe Bill Fisher, Fred Biggs, Charles Amos, Beryl McCoy, John McMullin and Fred Busker.
Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery, family will have a private burial at a later date.
The family will receive friends from 6:30-8 p.m. Wednesday at Heckart Funeral Home.
