Ruth G. Cole, 88, of Sedalia, died Sunday, February 6, 2005, at Four Seasons Living Center.

She was born January 5, 1917, in Sedalia, daughter of William and Laura Eckhoff Jaekel. On November 22, 1945, in Sedalia, she married Marvin E. Cole, who survives of the home.
Mrs. Cole was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. She was a 1934 graduate of Smith-Cotton High School. She worked at Scotts Dollar Store, Whiteman Air Force Base from 1942 to 1946, Coca-Cola Bottling Company from 1946 to 1950, and was the Pettis County Health Department Registrar. She lived in Mare Island, California from 1950 to 1952.

Survivors also include three daughters, Gail Meyerhardt, of Columbia, Linda Carr, of Taos, New Mexico, and Cheryl Johnson, of Columbia; five grandchildren, Kelly Corson, Michelle Corson, Brittany Meyerhardt, Brian Johnson and Eric Johnson; and a sister, Mildred Wands.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Heckart/Gillespie Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Ken Tatkenhorst officiating.

Pallbearers will be Danny Sapp, Tom Ogden, Ian Ogden, Brian Johnson, Eric Johnson and Harold Brauer.

Honorary pallbearers will be Kelly Corson, Michelle Corson, Harold and Artie Bergman, and Nancy Brauer. 

Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.

The family suggests memorial contributions to Children’s Therapy Center or St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
