Katherine Marie Craig, 77, of Sedalia, died Monday evening October 6, 2003 at the University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia.

She was born March 24, 1926, in Leeton, Missouri, daughter of Robert and Dolly Mae Williams Baird.  On December 31, 1942, in Windsor, Missouri, she married Russell C. Craig, who survives of the home.

Katherine was a member of the Broadway Baptist Church, Women of the Moose, Queen of Sponsors in 1990 and Academy of Friendship.  She was an avid reader, loved to crochet and spending time with her family. 

Survivors include her husband, Russell C. Craig of the home; five sons, Gaylon Craig of Sedalia, Kent Craig of Port Saint Luci, Florida, Mike Craig of Breckenridge, Colorado, Jeff Craig of Republic, Missouri, and Barry Craig of Sedalia; six daughters, Linda Saylor of Sedalia, Jeanie Langston of Sedalia, Nancy Dieckhaus of Kansas City, Missouri, Debbie Eppes of Sedalia, Pam Ollison of Smithton, and Becky Nace of Kansas City, Missouri; a brother, Bill Baird of Calhoun, Missouri; 17 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by two brothers, George Baird and Ray Baird; and a sister, Jean Nipper.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Heckart/Gillespie Colonial Chapel with Dr. Donald Allcorn officiating.

Pallbearers will be eight of her grandsons, Craig Guffin, Bryon Guffin, Scott Langston, Justin Wolf, Nolan Smith, Cory Eppes, Brandon Smith and Colton Craig.

Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Heckart/Gillespie Funeral Home.   Ladies of the Moose will conduct services at 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
