Mrs. Crook was employed by Zephyr Manufacturing Company and Town &
Country Shoes for many years. She attended Assemblies of God churches in Sedalia. She was a member the Sedalia chapter of the Deaf Association. She was a wonderful cook, most noted for her cabbage rolls and potato salad. She faithfully got up early every Sunday morning to watch two closed captioned church services on television. She read the Bible daily until her sight hindered her. She received her education in Sedalia and the Missouri School for the Deaf. She lived in Sedalia since early childhood, moving here from Joplin at the age of six. She moved to California in December 2001.

Surviving are a son, Charles Crook, and his wife, Joyce, of California, Mo.; a
sister, Nelle Dee Brashears, of Modesto, Calif.; seven grandchildren, Richard Camirand, Darrell Crook, Rhonda Jobson, Vincent Crook and Vicki Cain, all of Sedalia, Andrew Crook, of Jefferson City, and Beth Crook, of California; and seven great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles; two daughters, Rosemary Camirand and Charlotte Busick; a sister, Betty Irene Russell, of Sedalia; and three brothers, Frank Russell, Paul Russell and Carl Russell.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 24, 2006, at Heckart/ Gillespie Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Gary Schulte officiating. Pallbearers will be Dave Cain, Richard Camirand, Ronald Camirand, Andrew Crook, John Robert Crook Jr., and Grant Oliver. Honorary pallbearers will be Darrell Crook and Vincent Crook.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Heckart/ Gillespie Funeral Home. The family suggests memorial contributions to American Cancer Society.
Victoria May Crook, 84, of California, Mo., formerly of Sedalia, died Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2006, at her home.

She was born Aug. 4, 1921, in Galena, Kan., a daughter of Frank and Pearl May Jones Russell. On May 6, 1939, in Sedalia, she was married to Charles Everett Crook, who died Apr. 20, 1986.
