Warner Biggs, 84, of Slater, Missouri died Sunday, October 19, 2003, at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.
He was born April 28, 1919, near Nelson, Missouri, son of Clarence and Anna Elizabeth Caton Biggs. On February 25, 1943, in Sedalia, he was married




to Viola Harmon, who died April 29, 1994. On September 2, 1995, in Slater, he was married to Arlene Deal Borgman, who survives of the home.
Mr. Biggs was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Saline City, Missouri. He was a livestock and row crop farmer and a heavy equipment operator for thirteen years for Howard's Central Missouri Landfill. He was a member of the American Legion Post 558 in Malta Bend, Missouri and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2591. He was an United States Army veteran of World War II, serving as Technician 5th Grade in the Headquarters Company 359th Infantry, 90th Division. He received five battle stars for campaigns in Northern France, Normandy, Rhineland, Central Europe and Ardennes. He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal.
Survivors include his wife, Arlene Biggs of the home; two sons, Warner Biggs of Fort Walton, Florida, and Everett Tracy Biggs of Sedalia; two daughters, Frances Porter of rural Smithton, and Linda Montee, Jacksonville, Illinois; twenty-five grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; two brothers, Martin Biggs and Fred Biggs, both of Sedalia; and a sister, Margaret Forrest of Columbus, Ohio. He was preceded in death by a son, Charles E. Biggs; and two sisters, Reba Scott and Maurine Gore.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 22 at the Heckart/Gillespie Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Dr. Donald Allcorn officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Herman Cemetery with military rites conducted by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2591.
Pallbearers will be Arthur Sims, Neal Shoemaker, Martin Kiehl, Max Thomas, Mike Biggs and LeRoy Roberts. Honorary pallbearers will be Warner Biggs, Tracy Biggs, Delmar Cornine, Bobby Newman, Bill Davis, Bobby Johnson, Jim Werneke and Larry Ulmer.
The family will receive friends from 6:30-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
The family suggests memorial contributions to St. Paul's Lutheran Church or Mt. Herman Cemetery.
