Stella Jo Dawson, 75, of Sedalia, died Thursday, Dec. 25, 2003, at the Boone Hospital Center in Columbia.
She was born Dec. 20, 1928, in Smithton, a daughter of Ruben L. and Stella Mae Lewis Young. On Sept. 10, 1958, in Sedalia, she was married to John T. Dawson, who died May 24, 1982.
Mrs. Dawson was a homemaker and a graduate of Smithton High School. She loved to play bingo.
Survivors include a son, James Steele, of Sedalia; two sisters, Elizabeth Reives, of Sedalia, and Marian Schultz, of Dayton, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by four brothers, Victor Young, Lester Young, Ruben "Tiny" Young and Orville Young, and two sisters, Hilda Morris and Edith Hockaday.
There will be no services. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery at a later date. Friends may send condolences to the family online at www.heckart-gillespie.com.
