Mr. Dean retired as logistics support manager for Black Hawk helicopters for the U.S. Department of Army. He was a U.S. Army veteran, and a member of East Sedalia Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife, survivors include a son, Kevin Dean, and his wife, Malinda (Werntz), of Jefferson City; a daughter, Sheri Dean, of Waterloo, IA; four grandchildren, Linsa, Justin, Joshua, and Bethany; and a sister, Jeanne Greer and her husband, Tommy, of Huntsville, TX.

He was predeceased by his parents; and a brother, Billy James Dean.

Memorial services will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 29, at East Sedalia Baptist Church, with the Rev. Ray McDonald officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the church.

Memorial contributions are suggested to East Sedalia Baptist Church.

JW Dean, 69, of Sedalia, passed away Sunday, July 26, 2009, at Bothwell Regional Health Center.

He was born August 5, 1939, in Putnam, OK, a son of Nevin James and Luvenna Gregory Dean. On April 1, 1962, in New Brockton, AL, he married Erville Peacock, who survives of the home.
