Arthur J. Deuschle, Jr., 79, of Sedalia, died Wednesday morning, November 19, 2003 at the Harry S. Truman Memorial Veterans Hospital in Columbia.

He was born October 18, 1924, in Pilot Grove, son of Arthur J. and Ida Mae Quint Deuschle. On November 1, 1974, in Concordia, he married Vila Jean Schnakenberg Hass, who

Mr. Deuschle was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and was a charter member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2591. He was a United States Army veteran of World War II. He worked as a truck driver for Schlitz Beer Company and for Miller Beer Company.

Also surviving are a son, Thomas A. Deuschle, of Liberty; a step son, Bruce Hass, of Sedalia; two step daughters, Connie Shisler, of St. Petersburg, Florida, and Robbie Smith, of Sedalia; two grandchildren; eight step grandchildren; and a step great grandchild. He was preceded in death by a step son, Dan Hass; a sister, Edna Mae Reohrs; and two brothers, J.E. Deuschle and Lloyd Paul Deuschle.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Ken Tatkenhorst officiating.

Pallbearers will be Billy Joe Ficken, William H. Ficken, Norman Childs, Jack Deuschle, Bill Morris and Virgil Rehmsmeyer.

Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Deuschle, and Arthur's grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Friends may call after 12 noon Thursday at the Heckart/Gillespie Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday.

The family suggests memorial contributions to St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
