Mrs. Dieckman was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. She was a homemaker and lived most of her life in Sedalia. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and growing African violets.
Survivors include two sons, David Dieckmanand his wife, Cheryl, Sedalia;Darrell Dieckman, and his wife, Jan, Liberty; three grandsons, Matt, Mark and Brian Dieckman, a granddaughter, Emma Dieckman; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Delbert Wagenknecht, of Stover; a sister, Maxine Heimsoth, of Concordia. She was predeceased by a brother, Carroll Wagenknecht
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Heckart Funeral Home with Rev. Ken Tatkenhorst and Rev. Jeremy Freeman officiating.
Pallbearers will be David Dieckman, Darrell Dieckman, Matt Dieckman, Brian Dieckman, Mark Dieckman and Lee Wagenknecht.
Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m.- 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
Dorothy Darlene Dieckman, 81, of Sedalia, died Saturday, March 1, 2008, at Fairview Nursing Home.
She was born December 7, 1926, in Paola, Kansas, a daughter of Arthur and Florence Hering Wagenknecht. On May 5, 1946, in Stover, she married Walter Dieckman, who died February 15, 2002.
