Martha May Ditzfeld, 85, of Sedalia, died Friday August 13, 2004 at the Sylvia G. Thompson Residence Center.

She was born November 6, 1918, in Sedalia, daughter of George Edwin and Maude Croy Allcorn. On August 21, 1938, in Sedalia, she married Raymond Henry Ditzfeld, who died December 30, 1989.
Mrs. Ditzfeld was a member of Goodwill Chapel United Methodist Church, where
she was a Sunday School teacher, Methodist Youth Fellowship leader and a member of Woman’s Society of Christian Service. She was also a 4-H Leader and former Gray Lady volunteer. She liked to garden, and play cards and bingo. She enjoyed her family and their activities. She was a 1936 graduate of Smith-Cotton High School. Mrs. Ditzfeld was a homemaker and was a CNA at the Children’s Clinic for 10 years. She was an Avon salesperson and a member of the President’s Club.

Survivors include a son, Ray E. Ditzfeld, of Ashland; two daughters, Pearl C. Hayes,
of Sedalia, and Marilyn J. Thomas, of Columbia; seven grandchildren; and five great
grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Edwin Lee Allcorn, John William Allcorn and Maurice Allcorn; and her step mother, Ola Pearl Paxton Allcorn.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Heckart/Gillespie Colonial
Chapel, with the Rev. Mary Biesemeyer and the Rev. Kerry Skidmore officiating.

Pallbearers will be Mike Sullivan, Rodney Sullivan, David Cramer, Hank McNew,
Larry Hemme, Jeffrey Scott Ditzfeld, Ray Edwin Ditzfeld, Jr. and John Robert Hughes. Honorary pallbearers will be A. C. Kroeger, Jr., Mike Sullivan, Tim Sullivan, Steve Sullivan, George Ditzfeld, John Allcorn, Opal Gault and Matthew Thomas.

Burial will be in Highland Gardens Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. - 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

The family suggests memorial contributions to Goodwill Chapel United Methodist
