Before moving to southern California in the early 60's she worked for Lamy Mfg.
Co. Dottie returned to Sedalia in 1994 after her retirement from Boeing/Rockwell,
where for a time she worked assembly on the space shuttle program. She had a
wonderful sense of humor, loved to laugh and sing. She enjoyed big band era music and ice cream.
Survivors include a sister, Wanneta Smith, Sedalia; a brother, Carl Yessen, of
Overland Park, KS; 13 nieces and nephews including Debbie Biermann and Trisch
Domingue, both of Sedalia.
She was predeceased by two brothers, Kenneth Yessen and Lawrence Yessen;
four sisters, Marie Wells, Ruby Dameron, Blanche Yessen and Louise Orr; and a close
friend, Etta Lee Johnson.
A private family service will be held Monday, January 15, 2007, at Heckart/Gillespie Colonial Chapel with Rev. Jim Downing officiating.
Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery.
