Dorothy Jane McFail, 75, of Sedalia, passed away Monday, October 5, 2009, at her home.

She was born January 22, 1934, in Hughesville, a daughter of Roy and Sally Anthony Hughes. In August 1958, in Sedalia, she married Edgar L. "Teddy" McFail, who died November 8, 2006.

Mrs. McFail was a member of East Sedalia Baptist Church. She enjoyed working in her yard and spending time with her grandchildren.

Surviving are four sons, Eugene McFail (Pat), of Sedalia, Allen McFail (Rebecca), of Springfield,  Edward McFail, of the home, and Mahlon Theobald, of Dresden; a daughter, Brenda Joyce Theobald, of Kansas City; six grandchildren; three sisters, Lorene, Faye and Sarah; and two brothers, Gene and Leroy.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Siegel and Walter; and a sister, Virginia.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Heckart Funeral Home, with the Rev. Marlin Brown officiating.

Casket bearers will be Joe Cochran, Charlie McFail, Willie McFail, Bob Winchell, Jesse McFail and Chris Ayers.

Burial will be in Highland Sacred Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until service time Friday at Heckart Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Children's Therapy Center or American Cancer Society.
