Delbert Richey Thompson Jr., 65, of Sedalia, formerly of Smithton, died
Saturday, October 27, 2007, at his home.
He was born March 19, 1942, in Omaha, Nebraska, a son of Delbert Richey Sr.
and Josephine Sophia Wolf Thompson. He was married to Helen K. Barnes.
Mr. Thompson attended both Sacred Heart Church and St. Patrick Church. He
worked for Gardner-Denver for over 25 years as an air compressor maintenance
technician. He was in the National Guard and enjoyed collecting knives and guns. His favorite past time was customizing and working on motorcycles. He had lived all of his life in Sedalia and Smithton areas.
Survivors include a son, Daniel Thompson, and his wife, Lisa Robinett, of Kansas
City, Mo., and Michael Thompson, and his wife, Kendra, of Germany; a daughter, Jennifer Thompson, of Sedalia; two grandchildren, Abbegail Marie Thompson and Peyton James Thompson; a brother, Don Thompson, of Sedalia; and a sister, Dolores Wolf, of Otterville. He was predeceased by a daughter, Amy Thompson.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2007, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with Father Timothy Armbruster officiating.
Pallbearers will be Leroy Keele, Charlie Bahner, Andy Maloney, Junior Sleeper, John Wolf and Ronnie Cornine.
Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Heckart Funeral Home, where the Rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m.
The family suggests memorial contributions to American Diabetes Association or
American Heart Association.
