Emily Joseline Grimes-Duchone, 88, of Sedalia, died Friday, April 15, 2005, at Golden Age Living Center in Stover.
She was born February 21, 1917, in Cord, Ark., a daughter of Alfred Thomas and Perneice McDonald Wilson. On November 23, 1937, in New Port, Ark., she was married to Ralph Grimes, who died October 29, 1979.
On July 2, 1988, in Sedalia, she was married to Andre H. “Hank” Duchone, who died December 2, 1996.
Mrs. Duchone was a Baptist. She enjoyed flowers and gardening. She was a 4-H leader and taught sewing and cooking.
Surviving are a son, Thomas Welton Grimes, and his wife, Mertie, of Sedalia; a daughter, Virginia Lee Monsees, and her husband, Philip, of Smithton; six grandchildren, Kimberly Weymuth, Kris Monsees, Kari Monsees, Kirk Monsees, Shannon Johnson and Deon Hicks; and twelve great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by twelve brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Heckart/Gillespie Colonial Chapel, with Sam Young and the Rev. Ray Varnado. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until service time Monday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Jason Hicks, Josh Johnson, Eldon O’Neill, Kari Monsees, Wayne VanNatta and Larry Peters. Honorary pallbearers will be Marva Lee Taylor, Charles Taylor and Reevea Wehrman.
The family suggests memorial contributions to Salem Cemetery or Golden Age
Living Center.
