Maurice Clark "M.C." Estes, 81, of Sedalia, died Saturday, August 16, 2003, in Ivy Bend, Missouri.
He was born March 27, 1922, in Houstonia, son of Walter J. and Lucille Clark Estes. On March 19, 1947, in Sedalia, he married Mary Elizabeth Neiberger, who survives of the home.
Mr. Estes was a carpenter and mason for Tempel Callison Construction Company. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and woodworking, and was referred to as "M.C. Master Craftsman." He was a World War II Navy veteran and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2591. He attended Faith Baptist Church.
Also surviving are two daughters, Jennifer Goss of Eldon, and Janet Dewey of Osceola; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and a sister, Betty Lou Toops of Laurie. He was preceded in death by a brother, Bob Estes.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 20, at the Heckart/Gillespie Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jimmy Gear officiating.
Pallbearers will be Bob Edwards, Terry Estes, John McMullin, Larry O'Neil, Ralph Steinkuhler, and Jonathan Waters.
Honorary pallbearers will be Floyd Shackelford and John Swisher.
Burial will be in Highland Sacred Gardens Cemetery with military honors conducted by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2591.
Friends may call after 12 noon Tuesday, August 19 at the Heckart/Gillespie Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m.
