George Wilbur Evans, 87, of Sedalia, died Wednesday afternoon, May 28, 2003 at Bothwell Regional Health Center.
He was born September 11, 1915, in Crofton, Nebraska, son of William Thomas and Agnes Pearl Teague Evans. On May 24, 1941, he married Ladine Cassidy, who survives of the home.
Mr. Evans was a painter for the Missouri Pacific Railroad. He was a member of the Epworth United Methodist Church. He was a past member of the Sedalia Lodge # 236 A.F. and A.M., Moose Lodge and Painters Union # 786.
Survivors include his wife, Ladine Evans of the home; a daughter, Donna Morgan of Sedalia; six grandchildren; a step-granddaughter; nine great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Richard T. Evans; a brother, Robert (Bob) Evans; and four sisters, Edythe Choin, Nova Burrus, Florence Livingston and Ruby Countryman.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Heckart/Gillespie Colonial Chapel with the Rev. Bob Wasson officiating.
Pallbearers will be Chad Morgan, Jason Morgan, Don Cea, Mark Funke, Barry Evans and Bob Hartley.
Honorary pallbearers LeRoy Ryan, Bill Junior Hill, Leonard Christner, Bus Billiuris, Eddie Wise and Rick Findley.
Burial will be in Highland Sacred Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the Heckart/Gillespie Colonial Chapel.
