Fred E. Day, 73, of Sedalia, died Sunday, August 7, 2005, at his home.
He was born January 28, 1932, in Topeka, Kansas, a son of Josephine Day. On May 3, 1953, in West Palm Beach, Florida, he married Mary Olga Gonzalez, who died January 18, 2005.
Mr. Day was a member of Sacred Heart Church. He was a third degree member of Knights of Columbus. He served in the United States Air Force as a firefighter and later in the civil service, retiring in 1972. He had lived in Sedalia since 1989.
Survivors include a son, Fred E. Day, Jr., of Kansas City; two daughters, Linda Taylor, of Sedalia, and Glenna Langston, of Memphis, Tenn.; four grandchildren; a sister, Josephine Gardner, of Rolla. She was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Day.
Memorial services will be held at a later date. There will be no family visitation.
The family suggests memorial contributions to Sacred Heart Church.
