Lloyd Dean Flippin, 72, of Sedalia, died Tuesday, June 26, 2007, at his home.

He was born April 10, 1935, in Sedalia, a son of McKinley and Bonnie Mattox Flippin. On May 20, 1955, in Sedalia, he was married to Mary Ellison, who survives of the home.
Mr. Flippin retired from Bowen Construction in Kansas City after 42 years, where he worked as a cement mason. He was a member of Local 518 Cement Masons in Kansas City. He was a 1953 graduate of Smith-Cotton High School. He was a Baptist.

Also surviving are three sons, Scott Flippin, and his wife, Becky, of Kansas City, Jeff Flippin, and his wife, Terri, of Sedalia, and Brett Flippin, and his wife, Jenelle, of Overland Park, Kan.; a brother, Eugene Flippin, of Sedalia; four grandchildren, Ryan, Aaron, Stephanie and Christine Flippin.

He was predeceased by his parents.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, June 29, 2007, at Crown Hill Cemetery, with the Rev. Stephen Root officiating.

Pallbearers will be Scott Flippin, Jeff Flippin, Brett Flippin, Eugene Flippin, Ryan Flippin and Aaron Flippin.

There will be no family visitation, however friends may sign the guest book from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday at Heckart/Gillespie Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent online at www.heckart-gillespie.com.
