Gary Eugene Cummings, 61, of Sedalia, died Tuesday, September 5, 2006, at his
home.
He was born May 16, 1945, in Pettis County, a son of Kenneth and Beatrice Bowers Cummings. On August 2, 1968, in Pettis County, he was married to Carolyn Berry, who died in October of 1998.
Mr. Cummings worked at Wilson Food’s Packing House for 21 years. He was a
member of the Coon Hunters Association, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2591 and
American Legion 642. He enjoyed selling antiques, going to auctions, coon hunting,
fishing and dancing.
He was a 1963 graduate of Cole Camp High School and served in the U.S. Army
during the Vietnam war from 1964 until 1967. He had lived in Pettis County all of his
life.
Survivors include two daughters, Becky Cummings, of Sedalia, and Pam Hayworth, and her husband, Steve, of Sedalia; three grandchildren, Jacob Hayworth, Cody Hanning and Laine Wilson; and a brother, Bob Cummings, and his wife, Sharon, of Sedalia.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. The body was donated to science.
The family suggests memorial contributions to American Cancer Society or to Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2591.
