Daphne Lee Gile, 75, of Sedalia, formerly of Kansas City, Missouri died Wednesday morning, April 16, 2003 at her home.
She was born September 9, 1927, in Henrietta, Oklahoma, daughter of Cirbie Allen and Ella Brown Roden. On June 9, 1945, in Eufaula, Oklahoma, she married Thomas Aaron Urquhart who died July 16, 1971. On September 26, 1975, in Miami, Oklahoma, she married Elmer Gile who died in 1979.
Mrs. Gile was a member of the Printers' Union in Kansas City, Missouri and the Order of the Eastern Star in Eudora, Kansas. She had worked as a printer for Cooks Paint and for Intercollegiate Press. She had also owned and operated Elmers Inn in Warsaw for several years.
Survivors include four daughters, Treva Proctor of Springfield, Missouri, Kathie Davis of Norway, South Carolina, Becky Urquhart of the home, and Marsha Urquhart of Pleasant Valley, Missouri; a step daughter, Sherri Wicker of the home; a son, Buz Urquhart of Kansas City, Kansas; two brothers, Carl Roden of Grandview, Missouri and Kenny Roden of Cleveland, Missouri; 13 grandchildren; and 20 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Bobbie Flynn; and a brother in infancy.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at 5004 S. Limit with Treva Proctor officiating.
There will be no formal visitation.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the American Lung Association.
