Mr. Green was raised and educated in Sedalia, graduating from Smith-Cotton High
School in 1942. A World War II Naval veteran, he was honorably discharged in 1946, and subsequently graduated from Central Missouri State University in 1947. He worked for Montgomery Ward Mail Order in Kansas City, until his retirement in
1984. He returned to Sedalia to Liberty Angus Farm.
During his retirement in Sedalia, he was actively involved in several community organizations. He was on the CMSU Alumnae Executive Board from 1992 to 1997, Sedalia Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors from 1994 to 1997, and also served on the State Fair Community College Agriculture Advisory Committee. He was a member of the Pettis County Cattlemen’s Association, serving as president from 1989 to 1990. He was honored as Missouri Cattleman of the Year in 1993.
He was a member and Elder of the Broadway Presbyterian Church. Being a member of the Broadway Chancel Choir allowed him to pursue his lifelong love of music. He was a godly man, who modeled integrity and honesty, and above all his devotion and love for his family.
Also surviving are three daughters, Bobbie Cowen, and her husband, Michael, of Sedalia, Becky Perdue, and her husband, John, of Topeka, Kansas, and Debby Johnson, and her husband, Bob, of Tucson, Arizona; six grandchildren; and a brother, C.O. Green, of Sedalia.
He was predeceased by his parents and two sisters, Virginia Rages and Lois Summers.
Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 27, 2006, at Heckart/Gillespie Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Dr. Larry Wheeler officiating. Music will be provided by Marian Tempel, organist. Previously recorded solos sung by Mr. Green will be played.
Due to cremation, there will be no graveside services.
Visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday.

Robert “Bob” Parke Green, 81, of Sedalia, died Thursday, May 25, 2006, at Sylvia G. Thompson Residence Center.
He was born May 29, 1924, in Sedalia, a son of Parke B. and Nadine Green. On Nov. 20, 1948, in Kansas City, he was married to Jean Minert, who survives of the home.
