Louise Greer, 88, of Hughesville, died Sunday, March 30, 2003, at the Bothwell Regional Health Center.

She was born September 29, 1914, in Pettis County, Missouri, daughter of Pam Rush and Emma Josephine Marr Grinstead. On June 21, 1942, she married John "Jack" Wesley Greer, who died November 13, 2001.

Presbyterian Church where she taught Sunday School for many years and played the piano. She loved to read the Bible. Among her many blessings she considered her family the most important. She was a 1932 graduate of Houstonia High School and received her Bachelor of Science degree in Education from the University of Missouri, Columbia. She was an elementary school teacher from 1934 until 1946. Mrs. Greer was also a member of the Longwood Neighbors 4-H Club, Presbyterian & Methodist Women's Associations and the Longwood Extension Club. She loved to make afghans and she was a good cook. She had lived in the Sedalia area all of her life.

Survivors include a son, J. R. Greer of Marshall; a daughter, Betty Romig of Smithton; two grandsons; two step-granddaughters; six great grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mida Robb of Houstonia. She was preceded in death by a son, Robert Wesley Greer; a brother in infancy; and a sister, Ruth Buxton.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Longwood Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Leo Birk officiating.  Burial will be in Longwood Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Barnes, Chris Brown, Ken Weymuth, Jim Reid, Rick Weymuth and Leland Roscher.

Honorary bearers will be Bill and Margaret Schlomer, Marvin & Patty Shull and Esther Brown.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Heckart/Gillespie Funeral Home.

The family suggests memorial contributions to the Longwood Presbyterian Church or Longwood Cemetery.
