Fannie Belle Grimes, 86, of Olathe, Kan., formerly of Sedalia, died Tuesday, June 28, 2005, at Aberdeen Village in Olathe.
She was born Jan. 7, 1919, in Highland, Kan., a daughter of Fred Clifton and Talitha Edith Dittemore Perkins. On May 7, 1939, in Beaman, she was married to Karl Ivan Grimes, who died April 19, 1975.
Mrs. Grimes was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Olathe, and a former member of Olive Branch Baptist Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Judith Hiltenburg, and her husband, Robert, of Sedalia, and Janice VanNatta, and her husband, Wayne, of Olathe, Kan.; a sister, Dorothy Blaylock, of Sedalia; a sister-in-law, Eunice Perkins; four grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a brother, Donald Perkins.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, July 1, 2005, at Heckart/Gillespie Colonial Chapel, with Wayne and Viola Rhoads officiating.
Pallbearers will be Lloyd Holman, Eldon O’Neill, Philip Monsees, Tom Grimes, Terry VanNatta and Rob Parkhurst.
Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
The family suggests memorial contributions to a charity of the donor’s choice in care of the funeral home.
