Jean Groepper, 80, of Sedalia, died Saturday, June 12, 2004, at Bothwell Regional Health Center.

She was born July 30, 1923, in Ridgeway, a daughter of Lewis and Nellie Hartness Stockwell. On Aug.19, 1946, she was married to William E. Groepper, who died December 4, 1981.

Mrs. Groepper worked as a waitress at LeRoy's Steakhouse for a number of years and had lived in the Pettis County area most of her life. She was a member of the Broadway Presbyterian Church and liked to sew, read and do crossword puzzles.

Survivors include two sons, Kerry Groepper, of Hawk Point, and Monty Groepper, of California; three brothers, Larry Stockwell, of Oklahoma City, Okla., Allan Stockwell, of Hillsboro, Wis., and Bill Stockwell, of Elkhorn, Iowa; two sisters, Juanita Adams, of Sedalia, and Pat Dills, of Omaha, Neb.; three grandchildren and one great-grandson. She was predeceased by three brothers, Harold Stockwell and two in infancy; and a sister, Roxie Schwinderman.

Memorial services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 15, 2004 at the Heckart/Gillespie Colonial Chapel, with Dr. Larry Wheeler officiating.

The family suggests memorial contributions to the Broadway Presbyterian Church Women's Association.
