Branch Baptist Church in Sedalia, she was married to Lin Harms, who survives of the home.
Mrs. Harms was a member of Camp Branch Baptist Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2591 Ladies Auxiliary, and the Mozarkite Society of Lincoln, Missouri. She enjoyed crocheting, making jewelry, cooking, sewing, and most of all, her family.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two stepdaughters, Judy Davis, and her husband, Kenny, of Lincoln, and Linda Baker, and her husband, Jack, of Bolivar; three stepsons, Robert Harms, and his wife, Sharolyn, of Pleasant Hill, Roy Harms, and his wife, Marsha, of Bolivar, and Paul Harms, of Lebanon; a daughter-in-law, Nyla Beard, of La Monte; a son-in-law, Dave Uhlenkamp, of Green Ridge; five grandchildren, Steven Beard, Scott Beard, April Lindsey, Paul Robinson and Quintin Tickamyer; 13 step grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; five great great granchildren; a sister, Mary Grace, of Lebanon; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Hazel Uhlenkamp; a son, Frank Beard; four brothers, Lum Simpson, Billy Carl Simpson, Lee Simpson and Dean Simpson; four sisters, Maggie Robinson, Grace Bench, Nora Rose and Mattie Goans.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, November 7, 2008, at Heckart Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jim Downing, Jr. officiating.
Pallbearers will be Steve Beard, Scott Beard, Paul Robinson, Quintin Tickamyer, David Linsey and Greg Robinson.
Honorary bearers will be Scott Davis, Lt. Clint Davis, T.J. Stanley, Mark Stanley, Nick Harms, Paula Lambert, Amy Davis, Melanie Schlup, Katie Adams, Jennifer Wooderson, Cara Harms, Hiedi Harms, Heather Harms and April Lindsey.
Burial will be in Highland Sacred Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Heckart Funeral Home, with VFW Post 2591 Ladies Auxiliary conducting a service at 7 p.m.
