William Henry Hill, 74, of Sedalia, died Monday, January 31, 2005, at Bothwell Regional Health Center.
                               
He was born July 26, 1930, in Sedalia, son of William H. and Ethel Murphy Hill. On July 30, 1949, in Sedalia, he married Norma Jean Eaton, who survives of the home.



Mr. Hill attended First Baptist Church. He was a member of Sedalia Lodge 236 A.F. and A.M. and was secretary of the Carmen’s Union for 30 years. He worked for Missouri Pacific Railroad shops as a painter for 43 years, retiring on August 1, 1991. He was a service volunteer for the Sedalia Police Department and the Pettis County Civil Defense. He was a notary public.

Survivors also include two sons, Richard Hill, of De Bary, Fla., and William Lee Hill, and his wife, Tara, of Mountain Top, Penn.; two daughters, Debbie Foster, and her husband, Larry, of Sedalia, and Rebecca Ann Hill, of Lee’s Summit; five grandchildren, John Foster, of Huntsville, Ala., Shawn Foster, of Lee’s Summit, and Meredith Hill, Claire Hill and William Hill, all of Mountain Top, Penn.; a great granddaughter, Olivia Foster; and a brother, Roger Hill, of Sedalia.

He was preceded in death by five sisters, Dorothy Ackers, Margie Tillitson, Zelphia Hill, Martha Eitzen, and Rosetta Lawson; and four brothers, Albert Hill, Claude Hill, Tom Hill and James Hill.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, February 3, 2005, at Heckart/Gillespie Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Rusty Thomas officiating.

Pallbearers will be Carl Franklin, Tim Mosier, Ken Mickens, Larry Ward, Ted Litschauer and Jim Fall.

Honorary pallbearers will be Cleo Wissman, Don Lewis, David Montgomery and Loretta Parrish.

Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:30-8 p.m. Wednesday, February 2, 2005, at the funeral home. Friends may also sign the guest register at www.heckart-gillespie.com

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Children’s Therapy Center or Bothwell Hospice.
