Mr. Hinken was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, a 55 year member of Granite Lodge 272 AF&AM. He was a 32 degree Scottish Rite Mason, of which he was presented a blue hat by brother Sammie Rhodes for 50 years of continuous membership. Cord enjoyed reading, taking care of cars and spending time with his grandson. He had been a machinist at Missouri Pacific Shops and later he owned and operated Hinken’s 66 Service Station until 1978. He lived all of his life in Sedalia.

Survivors also include a daughter, Kathy Moegle, and her husband, Kurt, of
Kansas City; a grandson, Matthew Moegle, Kansas City; two brothers, Nelson W. Hinken, of Sedalia, and Billy Lee Hinken, of Junction City, Kansas; and three sisters, Ruby Hayes, of Independence, Dean Smith, of Kent, Washington, and Martha Sevier, of Sedalia. He was predeceased by a sister, Bernice McGee.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 1, 2006, at
Heckart/Gillespie Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Barbara Phifer officiating.
Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be George McConnell, DeWayne Duncan, Lyle Felton, Bill Bybee, Jack Hayes and Bob Burford. Honorary bearers will be John & Carolyn Hays, Mildred Duncan, Patty Felten, Nancy Bybee and Frank and Mary Margaret Sellers.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 until 8 p.m. Tuesday at Heckart/ Gillespie Funeral Home. Granite Lodge 272 AF&AM will conduct Masonic services at 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to Wesley United Methodist Church.
Kenneth Cord Hinken, 81, of Sedalia, died Sunday, February 26, 2006, at Bothwell Regional Health Center.

He was born December 28, 1924, in Sedalia, a son of William E. and Esther Ditzfeld Hinken. On July 4, 1943, in Sedalia, he married Maurine F. Buchholz, who survives of the home.
