Robert Eugene Hoard, 72, of Sedalia, died Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2006, at Four Seasons Living Center.

He was born Dec. 31, 1933, in Green Ridge, a son of Buell Sidney and Mary Elizabeth Smith Hoard. On April 10, 1954, in Sedalia, he was married to Mildred M. Bottcher, who survives of the home.

Mr. Hoard was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. He was a machinist and part-owner of Sedalia Electric Machine Shop, formerly Brown’s Machine Shop. He enjoyed spending winters in Texas, hunting, fishing and camping. After retiring, he had his own woodworking shop. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War.

Also surviving are two brothers, Charles Hoard, and his wife, Sharon, of Lincoln, and Harold Hoard, and his wife, Beverly, of Sedalia; a sister, Ellen Bremer, and her husband, Lloyd, of Smithton; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Ray Hoard; and two nephews, Douglas Hoard and Ricky Bottcher.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 25, 2006, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Ken Tatkenhorst officiating. Pallbearers will be Darren Hoard, Roy Hoard, Rod Hoard, Kevin Bottcher, Tim Gordon and George Esser. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 24, 2006, at Heckart/Gillespie Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
