Geneva Marie Holdren, 96, of Sedalia, died Tuesday, August 3, 2004 at Bothwell Regional Health Center.
She was born February 19, 1908, in Walker, Missouri, daughter of Jasper Newton and Edith Ann Cofer Ellis. On May 9, 1937, in Kansas City, she was married to Dr. Kenneth L. Holdren, who died July 13, 1985.
Mrs. Holdren was a member of First Christian Church, where she was a member of the Christian Women’s Fellowship. She enjoyed playing cards.
Survivors include two sons, Bob Holdren, of Sedalia, and Larry Holdren, of Ocean City, Maryland; four grandchildren, Donna C. Holdren, of Charlotte, North Carolina, Carrie Holdren-Serrell, of Bel Air, Maryland, Scott Holdren, and Larry Holdren II, both of of Ocean City, Maryland; and three great grandchildren, Hannah and Philip Serrell, and Erika Holdren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Lucille Andrews.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, August 7, 2004 at First Christian Church, with the Rev. Russell Willoughby and Brad and Susan Barton officiating.
Pallbearers will be Otis Thomas, Jim Rissler, Bob Schulz, Skip Schulz, John Wolfe and Mike Mittenburg.
Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Kansas City.
Friends may call from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday and after 8:30 a.m. Friday at Heckart/Gillespie Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 6:30-8 p.m. Friday. Friends may also sign the guest register online at www.heckart-gillespie.com.
