Ruth Mary Howard, 87, of Sedalia, died Friday, Aug. 3, 2007, at Fair View Nursing Home.
She was born May 21, 1920, in Sedalia, a daughter of Benjamin and Maggie May Griner Payne. In 1941, in Sedalia, she was married to Marvin Howard, who
died in August 1970.
Mrs. Howard enjoyed golfing, bowling, fishing, sewing, reading, working in her garden, crocheting, cooking, playing bridge and playing piano. She attended First Baptist Church. She was a devoted mother and grandmother.
Surviving are a son, Mike Howard, of Sedalia; a daughter, Judy Mitts, of Sedalia; seven grandchildren, Stacy Harvey,Christie Greene, John Howard, Libby Ecker, Katie Yates, Amanda Ferguson and Jennifer Carroll; and 13 great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a son, Larry Howard; a brother, Joe Payne; and two
sisters, Pearl Ditton and Virginia Heuerman.
Memorial services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2007, at Heckart Funeral Home, with Fred Biggs officiating.
Burial will be at a later date in Memorial Park Cemetery.
