David Paul Hunter, 43, of Sedalia, died November 11, 2003 at Bothwell Regional Health Center.
He was born September 30, 1960, in Sedalia, son of William E. and Mary Ellen Weathers Hunter. On December 26, 1981, in Sedalia, he married Jennifer Lynn Harvey, who survives of the home.
Mr. Hunter was self employed and did odd jobs. He was a
Special Olympics volunteer and attended Mt. Herman Baptist Church. He lived in Sedalia all of his life.
Survivors include his wife, Jennifer Hunter, of the home; a daughter, Melissa Ann Eckhoff, of Sedalia; his mother and step father, Mary and Alvin Wombles, of Sedalia; two sisters, Linda Hunter Rowe and Lola Hunter Dickerson, both of Sedalia; and three brothers, Eddie Hunter, Dennis Hunter and Clarence Hunter, all of Sedalia.
He was preceded in death by his father, William E. Hunter; a brother, Robert Hunter; and a sister, Joane Shoemaker.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, November 14, 2003 at the Heckart/Gillespie Colonial Chapel with the Rev. Kendall Simpson officiating.
Pallbearers will be Allen Dickerson, Greg Corpier, Eddie Hunter, Alex Kroeger, Roy Toliver, Don Vollrath.
Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery.
Friends may call after 3 p.m. Thursday at the Heckart/Gillespie Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 6:30-8 p.m. Thursday.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the Sedalia Area Special Olympics.
